picture tuesday – winter winds

Elliot Lake, ON

The winds have shifted and the first few flurries of snow arrived in Elliot Lake last week.  The intense heat of the summer sun has retreated to a gentle warmth that struggles against the faintest breeze.

Nights are cold now. The heat of the day leaking out into space and not replaced.

Winter is definitely in the air.  A dark and quiet calm has descended onto the landscape and you can hear the sound of the wind in open trees.
